The Smart Story
As a young man growing up in Nigeria, Ikenna never stopped dreaming that sports would one day change his life. He began as a soccer player, kicking anything he could without breaking his foot – including rolled-up socks, oranges or even empty plastic containers. He kept on playing soccer until his height caught the attention of someone who offered him a pair of basketball shoes and encouraged him to play basketball.

What we do
One of the main reasons why kids in Africa play a sport barefoot is because of poverty. Our mission is to support and provide athletic shoes to young athletes in Africa who cannot afford to buy one. We do this because we believe that a pair of shoes can build dreams, change life, and send a message of hope to a young athlete who is struggling with poverty in Africa.

Help today
We partner with sports teams to collect new and gently used athletic shoes. We then ship the shoes to Africa and distribute them to athletes participating in camps or clinic events.
